I posted Martha Washington’s Recipe for Devil’s Food Cake this weekend, so I believed I should post a couple of different Chocolate Recipes from different first ladies. The recipes are found in the individual Presidential Archives. Make any of these nice recipe. Celebrate Presidents Day.

Mamie Eisenhower’s Million Dollar Fudge

Ingredients

4 1/2 cups sugar

Ingredients

6 Eggs

12 oz Chocolate chips

four Tbsp Sugar

6 Tbsp Water

2 teaspoon Vanilla

1 teaspoon Salt

2 cups Whipping cream

Directions

Line flat 9×9″ cake pan with wax paper. Slice angel food cake. Place a layer of cake in pan. (Slices simpler if frozen). Ingredients

Vegetable oil, for baking sheets

1 1/2 cups unsifted all-function flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup stable vegetable shortening

1 cup (firmly packed) light brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs

2 cups old school rolled oats

1 bundle (12-ounce) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 levels F. Grease baking sheets with vegetable oil.

Combine flour, salt, and baking soda on waxed paper.
